From WG4 we went to the deep working group but this confused many. I am happy for suggestions but unless I hear otherwise from now I plan to refer to this group as:
GCSS Precipitating Convective Cloud Systems working group - shortened to GCSS PCCS.
I have updated the front page of the web (www.convection.info) to reflect this. I have also updated the news section to include this message. Please let me know if you feel other aspects of the page should be updated.
Two papers describing multi model comparisons are progressing well. One paper will describe NWP and climate models and another will describe CRMs and SCMs. Many thanks to Martin Willett, Steve Woolnough and all the participants for their on-going work into this.
Many plots are available from GCSS PCCS web page from both these areas of work (www.convection.info)
It is timely now to consider the direction and further collaborative work for the PCCS. I am interested in peoples views on what this group should do next. Specifically:
Do we want to do more model comparisons, or if not, then what should we do as a group?
I am happy for responses to be sent to [jon.petch@metoffice.com] me and I will summarise. Or concise discussion points can be made to the whole maillist. I will try to wrap this up and move forward in about a month.
